COMPRESSING WATER tIME

From Challenge to Triumph: Compressing Two Weeks into Instant Luxury

Nestled near the prestigious Belgravia Square in London, a distinct bathomatic project unfolded, redefining sophistication and innovation. This venture, driven by unique challenges and a clear vision, showcased the power of creative problem-solving and meticulous precision.

In the world of design, constraints often ignite innovation. Here, a custom-made stone bath, boasting an impressive capacity of over 1,000 litters, stood as a marvel of exceptional Italian craftsmanship. Its unalterable form posed a significant challenge, requiring inventive solutions. We transformed the original Vola taps, aesthetically exquisite but functionally inadequate, complementing them with a hand shower to add timeless elegance. These refined fixtures, while beautifully designed, fell short in flow rate and safety standards.

The project’s ambitious goal, as articulated by the architect, was to drastically reduce the bath’s filling time from two weeks to mere moments. This challenge led to the creation of a perfectly scaled twin for the compact Vola spout, at a 3:1 proportion, elegantly balancing form and function. Through a symphony of multiple water mixers, we optimized the plumbing system, achieving a maximized flow rate. While embracing modern technology, we retained the traditional manual hand shower and taps, honouring classic design elements. The introduction of the bathomatic TO Guard provided an innovative safeguard against overfilling, ensuring precision and reliability regardless of the water source.

In this project, the bathomatic system remains discreet, its presence felt only through functionality. Its subtle integration is revealed in the use of the bath and through the navigation of the Crestron control’s bath management interface, affirming its seamless blend into the luxurious environment.
